Cherokee Flame is a website dedicated to the advancement of the Cherokee people through journalism and political discourse. This website is founded and operated by Cherokee Nation citizens, Zac Russell and Abigail Hickman, to be an independent source for news and discourse pertinent to Cherokees.
Zac Russell is a third year student at the University of Virginia studying American Government and was a 2020 Udall honorable mention. Zac serves the Native American Student Union at UVA as social chair and is active in Native American and Indigenous Studies @ UVA, a group devoted to increasing the visibility of Natives on grounds. @zacrussell93 on Twitter Abigail Hickman is a senior at Columbia University studying Anthropology and is an Mellon-Mays research fellow, Udall scholar and Truman fellowship finalist.
